2001-2002 Varsity Team Roster
VARSITY TEAM PREVIEW
The 2001-2002 Elk Grove Lady Herd Varsity team returns all five starters from last year's 11-17 playoff team. Returning are: First Team All-Delta player Melissa Painter, All-Delta Second Team players Stephanie Lopez and Kristin O'Rourke, Ashley Peterson, and Leslie Horton. The five regular starters from last season are joined by a wealth of talent and athleticism. Filling out the guard spots are Juniors, Kim Souza and Robin Starkey, Sophomore Angelina Wion, and Freshman Jennifer Enos. Playing along side of O'Rourke and Peterson are Junior posts Vanessa Irving and Amanda Bartling.
Coach Benson looks forward to this season because of the team's versatility and athleticism. One of last season's weaknesses was offensive production. The 2001-2002 Varsity team has many offensive weapons to improve in that area. Defensively, the Lady Herd Varsity will remain solid, if not improved.
