Junior Varsity Coach

Steve Farr returns for his third year as the Head Coach for the Junior Varsity Team. He graduated from EGHS in 1984 and lettered in soccer, swimming, and basketball where he was the starting point guard in his senior year. During his final two years in high school he played on a Northern California All-Star team that traveled to Southern Cal for a 4 state tournament. He was invited to return the following year to coach at the age of 18; this is when he discovered his love for coaching. "From day one it was one of the most natural things I have ever done. Half the team was comprised of guys I played with but they never questioned my direction and gave me the respect of a seasoned coach." Coach Farr then decided to postpone college and serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served four years of active duty and another 12 years in the Reserves. When his kids became interested in sports he watched them play and again felt the urge to return to coaching. He successfully coached both kids' basketball teams simultaneously in CYBL for several years and seasons, as well as coaching his daughter's soccer team and as an assistant for his son's Select soccer team. "I love coaching my kids more than anything; it's a very special time that I get to share with them, but being able to come back to my Alma Mater and coach the JV team is about the love of the game, and I love this game!"

Steve Farr wants to thank his family for their support of his passion, especially Grace his wife of 21 years who gives up many nights in front of the fire so that he can coach.
